As an admitted shopping addict, I browse the internet and magazines often and make note of things I can’t afford, acting as though I can. These are the latest treasures I’ve found. If you have the money, please buy them so I can live vicariously through you.
First is the Slouchy Velvet Blazer from Free People. Who would have thought velvet would make such a stylish comeback? Certainly not me, but this tailored rust and indigo colored beauty with a pleated elastic back goes against all odds. You can wear it with virtually anything. Pair it with a dress and heels for a night out, or a t-shirt and jeans for everyday wear. We all know how much I love jackets.
Next are the Betwixt Booties by Farylrobin sold at Anthropologie. The taupe booties have a 3″ leather heel – the perfect height for any occasion. Not too high to wear to work or even the grocery store, but high enough to wear for a night out. In almost every way they resemble the classic bootie: ankle-height, buckle, rounded toe. However, the cut-out side is what makes these shoes extra special and a season must-have. Your feet can go naked, you can dress them up in sheer or colorful stockings and tights, or you can be a little daring and try out some lace or sparkle socks like these from American Apparel.
Finally (although there are probably a million other things I could list) are the Chino Pants from Asos. I had never heard of this company until the October issue of In Style magazine which featured a pair of pants from Asos. After looking into them a bit further, I must say they have one of the best pant selections I have ever seen. Move over Zara. These boyfriend-cut trousers in “mushroom” color have folded pleats and button tab belt loops to give them a feminine touch. Again, these versatile pants can be worn in any season, day or night. And the best part – they’re totally affordable.
Hey, look at that! I’ve created an outfit.
