Jeffrey Campbell‘s Fall shoe collection mashes styles from the 60’s and 90’s to create the loudest shoes you’ve ever seen. However, these might not have been the best styles from that era. In fact, they might have been the worst.
I have two problems with the Lita Boot from his Fall collection. First is the shape. Ignoring the loud colors for a moment, I can’t image the shape of the boot to be flattering on anyone other than Gisele Bündchen and Sienna Miller. It’s 2 inch platform, 5 inch heel, and extremely wide rounded-toe mimics that of clown shoes. Which brings me to my next point. The colors.
While there are many options in colors for these boots, most of them look like they are circus wardrobe. I’m all for being loud and making a statement, but this is to the point of obnoxious. Maybe try them for Halloween. That might be more appropriate.
I don’t mean to rag on Jeffrey Campbell. Usually I’m raving about his shoes, but I just can’t seem to get behind some of these from his new line.
Ladies, if you have to get them, please go for a simple black or brown. The size is statement enough.
